Ha Giang Homecoming Weekend: The Crowd of Guests Suddenly Increases

“Ha Giang Enters Its Most Beautiful Season, Attracting Crowds Of Tourists To See Buckwheat Flowers
According to information from VnBooking, since the end of October, the number of visitors to Ha Giang has increased significantly, mainly people who want to enjoy the beauty of buckwheat flowers. Large passenger vehicles clogged traffic on the weekend, especially down the Nho Que River. Road sections that are under repair such as Km19+500, Km21+300 also make travel more difficult for tourists, especially on weekends.”

In the first 9 months of this year, Ha Giang welcomed about 2.1 million visitors. Mr. Lai Quoc Tinh, Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial Tourism Association, forecasts that by the end of the year, the province will welcome about one million more visitors.
Mr. Tinh said that at the end of the year, tourists tend to flock to Ha Giang to see buckwheat flowers, peach blossoms, and plum blossoms. Many provinces and cities in Vietnam grow buckwheat flowers, but nowhere else have “buckwheat flower fields” as beautiful as Ha Giang, causing the number of visitors to increase sharply.
Accommodation and tourist transport businesses in the province also recorded positive signals. A representative of H’mong Village Resort (Quan Ba) said there were no specific statistics on the number of visitors, but the signal in November was “extremely positive”. During the last three weekends (November 3 – November 5), this resort reached 100% room capacity. The facility has 25 bungalows and community motels, accommodating about 130 people.
Bui Van Phuong, manager of Bang Phan bus station – owning 6 buses running from Hanoi to Ha Giang – said the bus occupancy rate has increased significantly compared to previous months. On weekdays from mid-October, the occupancy rate increased from 50% to 70%. During weekends, the bus station often achieves a 100% occupancy rate.

“November is considered the peak season for Ha Giang tourism. Tourists planning to travel should book their cars early to avoid running out of weekend tickets,” Mr. Phuong said.
Previously, from October 27 to October 29, Ha Giang held a buckwheat flower festival. According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Physical Education and Sports of Ha Giang province, in three days, the province welcomed 3,459 foreign visitors and 54,921 domestic visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 137.1 billion VND. On October 27 alone, the number of tourists coming to Ha Giang was 19,500 people, of which 1,100 were foreign visitors, total tourism revenue was estimated at 45.8 billion VND. Bed and room capacity is estimated at 100%.
In November, Ha Giang begins to winter, so the weather is colder, especially at night. The highlight of Ha Giang in November is the pink buckwheat flower fields. According to many tourism units in Ha Giang, tourists tend to depart from Hanoi, rent a bus to Ha Giang and then rent a motorbike to travel along the road from Quan Ba to Yen Minh, Dong Van, Meo Vac and then back. to feel the majesty of the mountains and forests here.
