The World Cuisine Awards honored Hanoi as the best emerging culinary city in Asia 2023 by owning 3 of Vietnam’s first 4 Michelin restaurants.
The World Culinary Awards announced that Hanoi won Asia’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination 2023 at a ceremony in Dubai, UAE at the end of the year. October. Hanoi surpassed other candidates such as Tokyo, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur to win first prize.

Among Vietnam’s first 3 out of 4 Michelin-starred restaurants in Hanoi, 1-Michelin-starred restaurant Hibana by Koki of Capellia Hotel won Asia’s Best Hotel Restaurant 2023. In Ho Chi Minh City, Anan Saigon , another Michelin 1-star restaurant to win Asia’s Best Restaurant 2023. Hôtel des Arts Saigon won Asia’s Best Brunch Venue 2023.
The World Culinary Awards are the World Culinary Awards that honor excellence in the global culinary industry. The award is a “sister” event with the World Travel Awards and has taken place annually since 2020. Asia’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination is a new award added this year. The award selection criteria are based on the evaluation of experts in the fields of cuisine, services and tourism.
Vietnam has been honored by the World Culinary Awards many times in previous years. In 2022, Vietnam received the award for Best Culinary Destination in Asia. La Maison 1888 located in the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort won the award for Best Fine Dining Restaurant in a Hotel in Asia 2022 and Best in the World 2020. Anan Restaurant & Rooftop Bar is the best restaurant in Asia 2022.
